After a few weeks away from royal duties recovering from a stomach operation Princess Kate revealed on Friday night she has been diagnosed with cancer.

The Princess of Wales thanked the nation for their well wishes and said she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

Kate also touched on how she told her three young children about her diagnosis, saying she and William told George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 in a way that was “appropriate for them”.

And King Charles, currently undergoing treatment for cancer himself, has spoken out about how proud he is of his daughter in law.

With the upheaval the Royal Family is currently facing, some believe Prince Harry should fly back to the UK and undertake royal duties.

Harry flew to the UK to see his father briefly at the beginning of February, but has since remained in the US.

He and Meghan released a statement following Kate’s announcement writing: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

Earlier this week, former royal butler Grant Harrold said the Royal Family should “bite the bullet” and ask Harry to return.
