King Charles is hoping to attend the Easter Sunday church service next week, but insiders reveal that the monarch is set to deliver a special message before then.
King Charles will record an Easter message of hope to be broadcast on Maundy Thursday at Worcester Cathedral when his wife Queen Camilla will lead the service.
The King is unable to attend the annual event himself as he has postponed public-facing duties while he undergoes cancer treatment. However, Buckingham Palace revealed last night that he is hoping to lead the Royal Family at the Easter Sunday church service.
His Easter message, revealed by the Sunday Mirror, will be an attempt to reassure the nation after the Princess of Wales’s devastating cancer diagnosis.
A royal source said: “The King has been keeping in touch with the Princess of Wales from the moment she was admitted to hospital in January and throughout her current cancer treatment.
“He is utterly determined to put on a show of unity for his family and reassure the public and wider world that the monarchy is stable, despite the current tumultuous period it is experiencing. The King is very much hoping he will be able to make the Easter church service but will of make a final decision on the day.”

King Charles will deliver an Easter message of hope to the nation
It comes as Palace sources revealed this year’s Easter Sunday church service will be much smaller than normal, after the Prince and Princess of Wales were snapped in a helicopter on Saturday on their way to Anmel Hall, in Norfolk, where they will spend Easter instead.
They told the Telegraph: “The King and Queen are hoping to attend some form of Easter service in Windsor. However, it will not be the large family gathering that we might expect to see in different circumstances.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales and their family will not be attending the Easter Sunday service. However other royals such as Princess Anne, Mike and Zara Tindall and their children, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are expected to be there.
Princess Kate was diagnosed with cancer
The latest news follows Princess Kate’s shocking cancer diagnosis announcement on Friday, after weeks of wild speculation about her well-being and whereabouts.
Kate bravely spoke about how the cancer was found after her abdominal surgery back in January and added that she is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy.
In the heartbreaking video, the future queen thanked the nation for “all the wonderful messages of support” and their “understanding and also appeared to spread a message of positivity as she added: “I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.”
