Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expecting ‘grovelling apology’ from William and Kate
A royal expert suggested that Prince Harry longs to reconcile with Prince William but expects an apology to come first from him and the Princess of Wales.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle expect a “grovelling apology” from Prince William and Princess Kate before they start any reconciliation efforts, a royal expert has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to the UK in May for an event marking the 10th year anniversary of the Invictus Games in London with some hoping this could provide the perfect chance for the two feuding brothers to meet, following the Princess of Wales’s shock cancer announcement.
But now a royal expert has come out and claimed that even though Harry wants to reconcile with his brother, he still thinks that a “grovelling apology” needs to come from the Wales’s camp.
Royal author Tom Quinn told The Mirror: “He wants to reconcile with his brother so that the children can have some kind of a relationship, but he and Meghan still think that a grovelling apology needs to come from William and Kate first.”
He added: “He has implied that if he gets an apology from his family then he is prepared to forgive, but that just isn’t going to happen.”

The Sussexes are not on ‘speaking terms’ with the Waleses
Mr Quinn claimed that the duke longs for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to have a relationship with their cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
He explained: “Harry has spoken to friends about his sadness at not having a closer relationship with his niece and nephews, but what is upsetting him even more is the prospect of Lilibet and Archie having no relationship at all with George, Charlotte and Louis.”
Harry has been estranged from the Royal Family ever since he quit his royal duties and moved to the US with Meghan in 2020 and is reported to not be on “speaking terms” with William.
Since then, they have released a series of explosive claims and accusations against the royals, including William and Kate, through interviews, their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Harry’s memoir, Spare.
Princess Kate has been diagnosed with cancer
Following Kate’s announcement on Friday, the couple released a brief public statement, saying: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
They are also said to have reached out to William and Kate privately.
It is unknown whether this was made over the phone, by email or via text.
