Prince Harry and Meghan ‘dig’ that you may have missed in message to William and Princess Kate
Nana Akua has claimed that there was a “slight dig” in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s message to Princess Kate.

The pair released a statement after Kate announced she has been diagnosed with cancer and said that they wish “health and healing” for the Princess of Wales.

Speaking about the message from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, speaking on GBN America Nana Akua told her guest Lee Cohen that she felt that this was a dig at the public.

The GBNA host said: “Well, I thought the message was interesting because Harry and Meghan’s message was about offering health and healing.

t like there was a dig about the privacy that they need themselves. I just thought I could almost hear Meghan saying unlike the privacy you gave us sort of thing. Do you know what I mean?”

Journalist Lee Cohen responded: “Absolutely, it’s so underlines the difference between celebrity and public servant.

“Truly admired public servants are the working royals versus Meghan and Harry who have become nothing but celebrity influencers.

“In the United States, most people can’t even make the distinction. So that gives rise to what you’ve just underlined.”

Nana added: “You know what? They had everything. It’s almost as though they didn’t see that the shiny, gold-glistening thing would eventually become distorted and it actually wouldn’t survive.

“Whereas the longevity of the monarchy, which is what they are both part of is something that is to be cherished, looked after, enjoyed and respected.”

Harry and Meghan stepped down as senior royals in January 2020. The Duke last visited the UK following the recent cancer diagnosis of his father, King Charles.

Harry previously suggested there could be more visits to the UK. “I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can,” he told ABC News.

Kate shared her cancer diagnosis with the world via videoPAKate confirmed in an emotional video last Friday that she has cancer but did not say which type of cancer she has been diagnosed with. The princess said the news was a “huge shock” after an “incredibly tough couple of months”.

But added that she was “well” and “getting stronger every day”. Kensington Palace has not provided an update on when the princess’s treatment will end or when Kate will return to working duties.

However, Kate did note how much she enjoys her work and is looking forward to being back when she is able. She said: “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”

Kate added: “This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”
