Prince William has reportedly become “good friends” with Taylor Swift since their first meeting in 2013.

Taylor Swift was “keen to meet Prince William” whilst visiting London as part of her sold-out Eras tour last week, it has been claimed.
William and his two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended the Eras tour at Wembley on June 21 – which marked Taylor’s first London tour date and William’s 42nd birthday.
The trio also got to meet Taylor backstage, with a sweet picture of the moment posted on social media by both Taylor and the royal.
A source recently told the Mail’s Richard Eden that the meeting was initiated by the American singer-songwriter, who first met William in 2013.
As reported by the publication, the source added: “Taylor Swift was keen to meet the Prince of Wales while she was in London.
“They already know each other, so the meeting made sense.”
Although Princess Charlotte is said to be a huge fan of Taylor Swift, William might be close competition after he was pictured with the 14-time Grammy Award back in 2013 – two years before his daughter’s birth.
Following their past meeting, William and Taylor are said to have formed an unlikely friendship, with royal expert Katie Nicholl previously telling ET that the pair have a “great connection”.
The pair first became acquainted at the Centrepoint Gala Dinner at Kensington Palace in London in 2013.
Meghan Markle reportedly sent Taylor Swift a letter to appear on her podcast, Archetypes.
Later that evening, the two ended up on stage with Bon Jovi singing his famous hit, Livin’ on a Prayer.
As reported on MailOnline, Katie – who was present at the event – said that there was a “lovely connection” between William and Taylor.
She said: “There is clearly a lovely connection between these two. But William is not just a fan of Taylor, he’s a huge fan of her music, too.
William, Charlotte and George’s meeting with Taylor comes two years after she is believed to have snubbed Meghan Markle.
Taylor Swift performed in London this month – and will return for five more dates in August.
Meghan, who married Prince Harry in 2018, is believed to have reached out to Taylor to join her on her podcast in 2022 – but was rejected by the singer.
According to The Telegraph, Meghan wrote a “personal letter” to Taylor, asking her to appear on Archetypes. However, Taylor “declined, through a representative”.
Speaking to the Mirror, PR expert Ryan McCormick explained that Taylor meeting the Royal Family in London last week may be “unnerving” to Meghan after the snub.
He said: “Because of Taylor’s considerable clout, her friendliness towards William may very well be unnerving to Meghan. If Swift publicly endorsed or supported the Duchess in any way, it would immediately bring a cascade of adoring Swifties into her camp.”
