Prince Harry plans to visit his family in the UK without his wife Meghan Markle, as insiders claim she fears a frosty welcome and has “too much on her plate’.
Harry, 39, is reported to be planning to return home to the UK for an unspecified amount of time in September with plans to repair his relationship with his family after the shock of both King Charles and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnoses.
His wife is not expected to be by his side for the trip with insiders telling the magazine Closer the duchess has “too much on her plate” with the couple’s two children Archie and Lilibet and her brand American Riviera Orchard.

The source has also revealed the Duchess of Sussex holds fears of being “heckled again in public”.
“She’s respectful that Harry has to go back to his homeland for practical and emotional reasons, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to go with him,” the source said.
“She’s got way too much on her plate with the brand and her new cooking show, as well as looking after the children.
“The last thing she needs is the stress of going back to the UK, where she fears she’d be heckled again in public, which she finds really painful.”
Harry also visited London on his own in May to prep for the Invictus Games, travelling from his home in California without Meghan Markle and children.
Harry and Meghan relocated to California in 2020 after resigning from royal duties.
They swiftly secured deals with Netflix and Spotify, capitalising on global interest in the couple.
Meghan Markle may endorse Kamala Harris to get ‘an in’ into US politics
According to Newsweek, the Duchess of Sussex was “liked” by 36 per cent of adults and “disliked” by 24 per cent of Americans as of May.
Despite being an American citizen herself, Meghan significantly lags behind Princess Catherine, Prince William and even Prince Harry among Americans.
Tensions between the Duke and Duchess and the Royal Family, which continue to make headlines, also play a part in Meghan’s reluctance to return to the UK.
“Meghan also doesn’t have it in her to spend time with people she knows there’s tension with. It’s just not going to happen,” Closer’s source continued.
“It will be hard on Meghan but there’s just no way she can face going with him. Harry would love for her and the kids to join him, but he’s very aware of how stressful it is for her and doesn’t want to force her into an uncomfortable position.”
