Kate Middleton used ‘superhero color’ to ‘assert authority’ over Prince William

The Princess of Wales “asserted her authority” over her spouse, Prince William, with a striking outfit choice at an annual festivity, claimed a body language expert.
Celebrating St Patrick’s Day with the Irish Guards last year marked Kate’s first occasion in her new mandate as Colonel of the regiment, succeeding her husband William who formerly held the post and is now Colonel of the Welsh Guards in his role as Prince of Wales.
During the parade, Kate proudly took the salute for the first time and continued the tradition of presenting shamrock sprigs.
Body language specialist Darren Stanton, speaking on behalf of Betfair Bingo, observed the princess clearly differentiated herself and established her prominence during the significant event.
He remarked: “Kate appeared very confident as she exited from the car, while William accompanied her in the vehicle. “I would definitely say Kate was dressed in her superhero color, which is usually red, blue, or turquoise. It’s clear she wanted to stand out from the crowd and assert her authority over William and the other guests.

“She tends to opt for these superhero colors when she wants to be perceived in a powerful way. As this was Kate’s first appearance as Colonel of the regiment, she clearly wanted to state her position and make herself known amongst the crowds in the bold color.
“During the appearance, Kate appeared extremely confident in her posture and stance. She was walking very upright as she was called upon to inspect the guards. Meanwhile, William seemed more reserved in his approach, possibly because he did not want to overshadow his wife,” reports the Mirror.
“I definitely believe Kate was at her strongest during the parade in respect of her levels of confidence. Obviously, William is used to these types of events after being in the army, however, Kate clearly took the engagement in her stride.”

However, Darren noted that Kate also displayed an “elegance” and “ease” while engaging with the guests. He said: “We also saw some really nice moments when Kate was introduced to guests at the event. In order not to tower over them, she leaned right down to meet their eye level. This shows that she is intent on making people feel comfortable while speaking with them. “The fact that Kate considered how she would appear from someone else’s perspective is telling.
“In psychology, we refer to this as second positioning, which means she considered someone else’s viewpoint first, as well as her own. This is why Kate is so great at communicating with the public. “Kate and William have both continued to go from strength to strength in how they conduct themselves in public. During their early years in the limelight, they would often appear nervous and not as confident with their actions. However, they have both developed with elegance and ease over the years.”
