Princess Catherine and Prince William’s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are enjoying a fun summer with their parents at Anmer Hall, where they can enjoy outdoor sports such as football, cycling, fishing and rowing.
It’s no secret that the Prince and Princess are keen sports fans, but over the years it’s become clear that they have passed their love of sport on to their children. Both Catherine and William have taken their children to sporting events on numerous occasions.

One of the young Royals’ favourite pastimes is playing football, with Prince George, a budding football enthusiast, often leading his siblings in spirited games on the lawn. Their parents Prince William and Princess Catherine, well known for their own love of sport, occasionally join in creating a lively and competitive atmosphere, filled with laughter and cheers, this shared activity not only provides a fun way for the family to bond but also instills a love of fitness and team spirit in the children.
Cycling is another popular activity at Anmer Hall, the many trails and paths on the estate provide the perfect setting for children to cycle and explore the surrounding landscape at their own pace with the guidance and supervision of their parents, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis enjoy the freedom and thrill of cycling. Boosting their sense of adventure and independence, child psychology professor Helen Dodd says watching sport can motivate children and make them want to play more sport or just want to get out and be physically active more often.
Tent’s research also focuses on the importance of adventurous outdoor play and the positive effects it can have on children’s mental health and overall wellbeing based on my experience and understanding of children’s mental health. I believe that children need the space and opportunity to be adventurous and engage in what could be called adventurous play. She explains that a combination of a love of sport and parental encouragement has ensured that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have had an active and adventurous summer. The sight of the royal family surfing the water is a testament to their unity and love of the great outdoors.
