The Duke, 39, and Duchess of Sussex, 43, kick started their quasi-royal tour in capital of Bogotá on Thursday morning.

Vice President Francia Márquez and her husband Rafael Yerney Pinillo greeted the ex-working royals with welcome gifts and a breakfast meeting.

Speaking to the UK’s Mirror on Thursday, professional lip leader Nicola Hickling said the Duchess spat a one-word demand to Harry as they walked.

Body language expert Judi James added the mother-of-two’s “tow-along hand clasp” is a “signature look” celebrities use when leaving exclusive nightclubs and VIP restaurants.

“Her spine is pulled upright and her arms are held with the elbows pulled into her torso, which is a celebrity trick to create a look of elegant specialness,” Ms James said.

“It is made clear who the star of the show is and it’s his (Harry’s) elegant, beaming wife at the end of his arm”.

She said Meghan made a further attempt to leverage her celebrity status with a “large designer bag” which she swung in her right hand.

The cream bag, by Italian designer Loro Piana, retails for $4,700 and Meghan matched it with a pair of black Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Her jewellery choice, Lorraine Schwartz Against Evil Eye, added a reported £15,011.84 ($18,815) to her look.

Analysing Harry’s demeanour, Ms James added the Duke appeared reserved and wary with a difficult expression beside his bejewelled wife of six years

“Harry arrives walking ahead here and his facial expression is complex and rather thoughtful,” she said.

“With a hint of a polite eye-smile topping slightly sucked-in lips that give a whiff of wariness or reserve.”

Harry and Meghan’s jam-packed day one itinerary included a tour of Bottega’s Colegio Cultura Popular children’ school led by head Leonel Umaña Parra and student José David.

The Duke, according to Ms James, failed to lift his rather reserved demeanour when he and Meghan next attended a theatre performance and musical dance show at the Plaza del Carnaval y la Cultura in San Juan de Pasto.

“When he sat watching there was a lot of pulling and fiddling with his clothes and some foot-shuffling to suggest awkwardness or anxiety while Meghan beside him adopted an elegant pose that didn’t waver,” she said.

“Despite his life-long induction into royal behaviour it was Meghan who managed to sustain a perfect royal smile at this performance while Harry’s expressions and body language fluctuated.”

She beamed in the stylish burgundy metallic printed dress, reportedly worth $2,150, and rounded the look with her hair styled in flowing waves.

Harry and Meghan’s Colombia tour marks their second unofficial trip aboard following their travel to Nigeria in May.

It will see them visit local schools to help students improve their digital literacy while championing awareness of mental health, Ms Márquez said.

She said the ex-working royals will “have the exceptional opportunity to engage with elders, youth and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians”.

Harry and Meghan will visit Cartagena and Cali, before meeting with the country’s Invictus Games team.

They are reportedly travelling with full security during their visit, although it is unclear whether their protection is privately paid for or funded by the Colombian government.
