Kate and William take on George, Charlotte and Louis in wholesome Nerf battle family fun day
Prince William and his family were spotted in Norfolk taking part in a Nerf battle with other children and their families, with one describing it as “unforgettable”
Prince William and Princess Kate swapped formal events for an action-packed Nerf battle against their three children last weekend.
They enjoyed themselves – along with 11-year-old Prince George, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis – while at the Gone Wild Festival at Holkham Hall in Norfolk.
Louis was described as being “excitable and unforgettable” while Kate even picked up one of the toy guns herself. The mini war was hosted by Norfolk Nerf Parties boss Georgina Barron who said it was the “biggest honour” for her to host a “wholesome family day”.

Speaking about the event, Ms Barron said: “I was called to the production team’s office and told that a very special VIP family had requested to play Nerf wars. The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, arrived with friends and family. They asked if we could provide a high-intensity, non-stop game of Nerf fun, and of course, Norfolk Nerf did what we do best.
The Royal Family members joined members of the public, as well as Ms Barron’s own family, in running riot on the premises with smoke bombs and Nerf guns, MailOnline reports.
She added: “My sons Euan Barron, Jenson Barron, and Junior Barron had the ultimate honour of playing Nerf Wars with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the adorable Prince Louis.
“The Princess of Wales grabbed a Nerf gun, ran around, and played stuck in the mud with her children. Prince Louis was shouting with glee, ‘Come on, Nerf or nothing. Let’s do this!’ I’m still in awe of what a memorable experience we had.”
Ms Barron said it was a day her family will never forget and she won’t forget the Nerf warriors gearing up with face paint and charging around together before playing the children’s tag game stuck in the mud.

She revealed the family had ‘requested no protocol’ and “just wanted a wholesome family day like any other normal family”. News of the family outing comes just days after the Waleses sent a heartfelt message to British Olympians ahead of the end of the Paris Olympics last weekend.
Kate posted an 80-second Instagram video as William stood by her side and told the athletes: “From all of us watching at home congratulations to Team GB.” While the Prince of Wales added: “Well done to Team GB you’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
Kate’s last appearance came back in June at the Trooping of the Colour. It came after she announced in March she was in the early stages of preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer just one month after King Charles was diagnosed with the illness.
