Meghan Markle honours Archie and Lilibet in Colombia with gold necklace
Meghan Markle has made a sweet tribute to her children, Archie and Lilibet, with a $1,700 14-karat gold pendant she was spotted wearing on the Colombia tour this week.
Meghan Markle honored her children by weaning a personalised necklace during her and Prince Harry’s visit to Colombia.
Prince Harry and Meghan have embarked on a whirlwind trip around Colombia in their latest royal-style tour.
The couple – who quit as working royals in 2020 – arrived in the capital of Bogota Thursday morning, and joined Vice President Francia Márquez, and her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo for a breakfast meeting.
Over the past four days the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have taken the South American country by storm, drawing the crowds and participating in events promoting mental health for young people and tackling cyberbullying.
The trip to Colombia is their second official tour of the year after they visited Nigeria in May taking part in a range of activities over three days.

Meghan and Harry, 39, welcomed son Prince Archie, 5, in May 2019, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3, in June 2021 and Meghan has a very special way to keep them close at all times when they cannot physically be together.
Meghan can be seen wearing the pendant around her neck
During the Colombia tour Meghan has been photographed wearing a pendant around her neck. The 14ct yellow gold pendant is a custom piece, having been engraved with the names of her two children.
The design is by Ariel Gordon and it reportedly set the Duchess of Sussex back by $1,700 (£1,350). According to reports, the brand is highly recognised among other celebrities such as Beyoncé, Kate Winslet, Gigi Hadid and Jessica Alba.
A statement from the brand confirmed Meghan’s tribute: “Our Imperial Disc Pendant is an elegant version of our best-selling Signet Medallion Necklace that Ariel designed when she wanted a necklace that could bear the names of her two children. Evoking a 1970s castaway vibe.”
Fans were quick to spot that the prince had chosen to wear the necklace he claimed his brother Prince William broke during a heated argument.
Harry showed off his necklace on US television and explained the statement behind it
The Duke of Sussex alleged in his book Spare that in 2019, the now Prince of Wales wrestled him to the floor and broke his necklace in a “physical fight”. In the book, Harry recalled calling his therapist after the argument and revealed his brother had “knocked me to the floor” – while his shirt was “ripped” and necklace was “broken” following the row which felt “different” to their previous arguments.
He claimed the scuffle broke out after his brother branded Meghan ‘difficult’, ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’ and insisted he was trying to ‘help’ Harry during a meeting. William is said to have apologised to Harry after the apparent brawl.
In January 2023, he appeared on The Late Show in the US and was quizzed by host Stephen Colbert about the necklace. Host Stephen, 58, asked: “There is a lot of talk about the physical fight that the two of you had, where he pushed you down in the kitchen and broke the dog bowl, when you fell on it. It says it broke your necklace. What necklace was it that he broke?”
Harry then replied with: “This one. Which is now fixed.” Harry then lifted the necklace, which had three pendants on, to show the audience. Host Stephen then asked him to describe the three pendants, as the Duke of Sussex revealed a tribute to his children as two pendants have plaques with cardiograms of Archie and Lilibet engraved on, which were gifted to him by his wife Meghan Markle.
He explained: “It’s got my kids’ heartbeats, which my wife gave me.” Gesturing to the third pendant, the Duke of Sussex said: “And then a friend of mine in Botswana made this for me, which has got tiger’s eye in the middle.”
Harry and Meghan have been photographed wearing these necklaces on a number of occasions over the years
