A royal aide made a brutal, two word, assessment of the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle after she had joined the royal family.
It has been claimed the aide said Meghan portrayed herself as the victim but claimed went on to say in their eyes she was the “bully.”
Harry and Meghan have always denied the bullying claims. The aide is then said to have described Meghan as a “complete narcissist and sociopath,” before adding that she was “completely unhinged.”
Robert Lacey’s book Battle of the Brothers, quotes the Kensington Palace courtier as saying: “Meghan portrayed herself as the victim, but she was the bully. People felt run over by her.
They thought she was a complete narcissist and sociopath — basically unhinged.” News of Meghan’s alleged bullying first became public days before her and Prince Harry’s explosive 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey. The Times of London reported Meghan occasionally reduced staff members to tears while she lived at Kensington Palace.
In the book, Robert also dwells on Meghan and Harry’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, where Harry claims his fall-out with his brother began because the Firm was jealous of how Meghan was so good with people, echoing Princess Diana’s treatment. Author Robert claims the brothers were no longer on speaking terms before Harry and Meghan left for Australia. He claims that it was the bullying allegations that sparked the feud.
William heard the allegations from Simon Case, his private secretary, who was sent the email. He immediately picked up the phone to call his brother, but the conversation ended with Harry slamming down the phone, the book claims. Kensington Palace is known for keeping courtiers in post for long periods, so when multiple aides quit in short succession alarm bells were ringing. Those who left informally formed an informal fraternity they called Sussex Survivors’ Club, Jason Knauf communications secretary to the Cambridges and Sussexes.
In a letter to he wrote: “I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year.” He claimed that Meghan’s treatment of staff was “totally unacceptable” adding that Meghan always seems set on having someone “in her sights.” He said ‘report after report’ had been filed by witnesses of unacceptable behaviour by Meghan. At the time of the allegations, a spokesperson for the Sussexes has since said the couple are the target of a smear campaign and denied allegations of bullying.
