The Prince and Princess of Wales have used Anmel Hall on numerous occasions, including recently when the whole family spent their Easter holidays there, away from the public gaze, following Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

The Norfolk retreat is believed to be a privacy haven for the royal family, who get to relax and be themselves among the locals.

While the Wales currently reside at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, Anmel Hall is their country residence.

They used the stunning property as their main residence between 2015 and 2017.

The Georgian property was gifted to the couple as a wedding gift by the late Queen Elizabeth II and has since become their go-to staycation destination.

It is believed Anmer Hall is the family’s favourite home. While the interior of it has never been revealed, the outside features a Wendy house in the estate, which no doubt gives plenty of time for the royal children to to play outdoors.

Prince William and Princess Kate as well as their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis get to get on with their lives in Norfolk as “everybody treats them totally normally” – a significant factor now as the future Queen undergoes preventative chemotherapy for her cancer and needs to keep away stress as much as possible.

A source previously told Hello!: “Kate is a regular at Mable’s Paint Pot, she always pops in with the children and nobody pays any attention. That’s why she likes it so much here, they consider Norfolk their real home and it’s because everybody treats them totally normally here and lets them get on with their lives.”

The Wales have mingled among locals many times before visiting local pubs and restaurants during and after making Anmel Hall their main residence.

The family of five were once spotted during a trip to a local pub and were described as “down to earth” and “just like any other family” by onlookers.

The Wales as well as their dog were pictured enjoying some quality time together at the pub’s beer garden with no security around back in 2021.

A witness told the Sun at the time: “It was amazing to see how down-to-earth the family were.

“It would have been easy to miss them – and just assume they were any other family.

“They were laughing and chatting and clearly enjoying each other’s company.”
