Meghan Markle is feeling “remorse” over her long-running feud with Princess Kate and now wants to find “some sort of reconciliation”, a Palace watcher claims.
But royal expert Hilary Fordwich says the Duchess of Sussex “has a long way to go” before Kate sees the benefit of burying the hatchet.
Insiders have claimed the former Suits star “wants to make peace” with the Princess of Wales, despite “genuinely feeling hurt” over the breakdown in their relationship.
Appearing on Fox News, Fordwich said: “Meghan Markle is purportedly remorseful. … Well, one would hope.
“It’s just being spread that she doesn’t want any bad blood. Of course, she wants and needs some sort of reconciliation.”
“But Meghan Markle has a long way to go for Kate to ever see an upside for the Royal Family or the public in a reconciliation,” she added.
The pair haven’t seen each other since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022, the last time Meghan was in the UK.
But a source told In Touch magazine that Meghan is now ready smooth things over. “She wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn’t want any bad blood between them,” the insider said.
“Meghan’s friends say she regrets how things went down and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realise she could’ve done things differently.
“Meghan’s been going out of her way to show concern for Kate in this difficult time,” they added.
In March the Princess of Wales put out an emotional video message confirming she was receiving preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery.
Harry and Meghan posted a message of support for Kate once the news went public, which read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”
It thought the Sussexes likely reached out to Kate in private too, despite Harry and his older brother Prince William’s frosty relations.
