Kate Middleton and Prince William clash as she’s left ‘heartbroken’ over family decision
Kate Middleton is said to be ‘horribly bullied’ at her first boarding school and doesn’t want the same experience for her son, Prince George, when he goes to secondary school.
Kate and William are making some big decisions on their family’s future
Kate Middleton is reportedly “heartbroken” following a disagreement with Prince William regarding the future schooling of their son, Prince George, sources claim.
The Royal couple are said to be at odds over whether Prince George should attend Eton College, the alma mater of Prince William and his brother Prince Harry.
This would mark a departure from the older generation’s preference for the Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun. While William is in favour of Eton for when George is of age, Kate is purportedly not keen on the idea.
An insider speaking to Touch Weekly revealed that Kate has strong reservations about sending George to the elite boys’ school. The source alleges that Kate’s own negative experiences of being “horribly bullied at her first boarding school” are at the heart of her concerns.
According to the insider reports the Mirror, Kate “can’t bear the thought of George suffering through that.”
Eton College is one of Britain’s most prestigious schools
Kate’s early education was at Downe House, a girls’ boarding school in Berkshire, which she “hated” so much that she left mid-term. She subsequently transferred to Marlborough College, a mixed boarding school in Wiltshire, where she completed her education.
It is this institution that Kate reportedly favours for Prince George. The insider added: “Kate thinks sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy.”

The issue has been reported as a major source of tension in the Wales household, with the couple apparently engaged in lengthy “arguments” over the decision.
A source revealed: “Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition,” adding that she is “finally giving in” to her husband’s wishes, with William seemingly having “won” the argument.
Prince William himself attended Eton from 1995 to 2000, with the school’s website currently listing tuition fees at a hefty £53,398 per year.
In other Royal news, it has been revealed that Princess Kate maintains contact with her children through the popular video calling app FaceTime.
The Princess of Wales, 41, reportedly relied on FaceTime to stay connected with Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, during her recent cancer treatment at the London Clinic.
It is believed that Prince William took on primary childcare responsibilities at Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Estate during this period.
