Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were once incredibly close, with the Duke of Sussex even describing her as the sister he never had.

The pair were often seen giggling and whispering at events, and Kate earned the reputation as the “peacemaker” between Harry and his brother Prince William. However, as the relationship between William and Harry deteriorated, so too did Harry’s friendship with Kate.

Now, it is reported that Kate wants her husband William to fix things with his younger brother after years of conflict.

A Royal expert has suggested that this reconciliation would be “one less cloud hanging over” the Royal Family and Kate would love nothing more than for the quarrelling siblings to “kiss and makeup”.

Royal author Christopher Andersen said: “Kate was close to Harry, true. They had a special bond. They shared the same goofy sense of humour and laughed at the same jokes. Harry often said Kate was the sister he never had.”

Speaking to Fox News, he continued: “Of course, Kate would like nothing better than to have the brothers kiss and makeup. It would be one less cloud hanging over the Royal Family’s head.”

However, Andersen added: “But above all else, Kate is loyal to her husband.” The author claimed that Kate “understands completely” why William has not mended the rift and is still upset with his brother, and she is “not about to pressure” her husband when they already have so much to focus on – her cancer journey and King Charles’.

The comments come after both William and Harry are said to have “secretly” attended the service for Lord Robert Fellowes, their mother Princess Diana’s brother-in-law, on Wednesday. Witnesses have claimed the pair sat separately, with no indication their years-long feud is ending.

The brothers were spotted at the back of St Mary’s church in Snettisham, Norfolk, but were not seen interacting. “William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance,” a source told The Sun.

Rumors swirled this week about a potentially tense encounter in New York next month between Harry and William. The Duke of Sussex is slated for a solo tour of the city in September to bolster several of his key charitable endeavors and will participate in events with organizations like African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.

Coincidentally, his journey coincides with the 2024 Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit happening on September 24, an initiative deeply important to William, who attended last year’s summit in New York. It’s not yet known if he will attend this year’s event.

Despite returning to the UK for significant events, including the Queen’s funeral and the King’s Coronation, the frosty relationship between Harry and his family remains. Harry and Meghan have made several criticisms of The Firm in interviews, Harry’s memoir, and TV shows. In his book Spare, Harry alleged that William ‘lunged’ at him and ‘grabbed’ his shirt during a dispute at Frogmore Cottage over Meghan Markle’s behaviour.
