Kate Middleton ‘less than thrilled’ with Prince William’s decision for their family

Reports have claimed that Princess Kate was ‘less than thrilled’ with a decision her husband Prince William made regarding their children and that the future Queen pushed back on it

Both Kate Middleton and Prince William are known to be hands-on parents who prioritise the well-being of their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six – above all else.

The couple, who have been together since they met as undergraduates at the University of St Andrews, married in 2011, and currently live in Windsor in a home that is, by royal standards, relatively modest – Adelaide Cottage.

However, despite the fact the couple is united on prioritising their children, they don’t always agree on exactly what is best for them – reports have claimed. And on one occasion when Prince William decided what he thought would work best for Prince George, the second-in-line to the throne, Kate was said to be “less than impressed” sources have alleged.

As reported in OK Magazine, what became a point of contention between Kate and William was the choice of secondary school that was most appropriate for their eldest son George, who is currently a pupil at Lambrook School. The report claimed that Kate was “less than impressed” with the possibility of sending her son to boarding school, but that William is keen his son attends Eton College – where he spent his secondary school years, as did Prince Harry.

Sources reportedly alleged that the couple had even had some rows about the topic, and “Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition” and that she believes, “sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy.” For the time being, George will remain at Lambrook, where his younger sister and brother are also pupils, as the preparatory school caters to children up to the age of 13, so he can stay where he is for another couple of academic years, reports The Sun.

However, despite Kate’s reported hesitation about Eton College, one royal expert believes that it’s still a likely choice for George when the time comes for him to move on to his next school. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine said to the newspaper, “What makes Eton look very likely, because it is so near to where they’re living.” She added that because of the high security bill that comes with being a member of the Royal Family, particularly those high in the line of succession, it makes sense for George to stay at Lambrook, or eventually attend another school that would be close by.

“All this makes an enormous difference because the royals are now under such scrutiny as to how much they cost the taxpayer. The security, which is very expensive and we pay for, for these members of the Royal Family when they’re at school, is why Charlotte, Louis, and George are all at the same school at the moment. If George went to Eton, it would be quite possible to use the same string of security to look after him,” the expert noted.
