Meghan Markle asked former Suits co-stars to appear on new Lemonada podcast after struggling to book guests
Meghan Markle has reportedly reached out to some of her former Suits co-stars with a surprising business proposition, but her old colleagues found the offer “pretty insulting”.
Prince Harry ‘gets away’ with making nasty comments about his family
Meghan Markle reportedly made a “tone deaf” offer to interview some of her former Suits co-stars on her new podcast but the Duchess’s ex colleagues declined the invitation.
Markle, 42, was a successful actress prior to marrying Prince Harry in 2018 and appeared on seven seasons of the legal drama series Suits.
Meghan ditched the courtroom series following her engagement to Harry and reportedly left some “hurt feelings” among her co-stars after distancing herself from the show.
Despite leaving Suits behind to become the Duchess of Sussex, an unnamed insider has claimed Meghan recently tried to reach out to some of her co-stars to interview the actors for her new podcast.
Meghan starred in the legal drama series for seven seasons before marrying Harry.
Meghan is currently working on a new podcast series for Lemonada media following the cancellation of her earlier audio series Archetypes for Spotify.
Speaking to GB News, the unnamed source said the Suits cast was “insulted” by the offer from Meghan, who is reportedly struggling to find celebrity guests for the upcoming podcast with Lemonada.
“It’s pretty insulting and the feeling is that she ought to be a lot more loyal to her roots,” the source told GB news on Wednesday.
The Canadian-produced series also starred the likes of Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty but the source did not specify which actors Markle contacted.
Meghan reportedly reached out to the Suits cast about a podcasting opportunity.
Although Suits ended its original run in 2019, the program has recently found streaming success on Netflix, prompting Universal to green light the upcoming revival series Suits: LA with many of the original cast set to reprise their roles.
The source claimed Meghan “seemed to want to get as far away from (Suits) as possible” six years ago but is now desperate to reconnect following the show’s success on Netflix.
The insider also claimed Markle would need to “do some serious damage control” to have a chance of getting back into the good graces of the Suits cast.
The update comes months after Sussex insider Angela Levin claimed Meghan turned down an offer to appear in Suits: LA because Universal refused to give the Sussexes’ Archewell production company a producing credit.
Ms Levin, who is also a Sky News Australia contributor, said preliminary discussions about Meghan’s involvement in the revival ground to a halt after it became clear the Sussexes’ production company Archewell would not be involved.
“She would have if they had let Archewell be involved in the production but that was turned down,” she told The Sun newspaper in February.
