Here’s your latest serving of some dishy royal drama. Duchess of Sussex – Meghan Markle had been facing a law-suit brought in by her half-sister, Samantha Markle.
Meghan’s half-sister through their father, Samantha had been seeking $75,000 from the Duchess for defamation. But, in the latest decision by a Florida judge, the ruling has come in favor of Meghan. Keep reading to find out all the details.
U.S. District Attorney Judge Charlene Honeywell has dismissed the law-suit against Meghan Markle that was filed by her half-sister.
Samantha had claimed in the legal war that the Duchess has defamed her in multiple interviews. Including the much hyped – Oprah Winfrey interview for CBS.
However, the Florida judge dismissed the defamation claims as Samantha could not provide evidence and statements that supported her claims.

Judge Honeywell stated that the whole base of the case is that Samantha disagrees with Meghan Markle’s opinions. But there are no statements of facts to support her claims that the Duchess of Sussex has attempted to defame her half-sister. The lawsuit since it was dismissed with prejudice, and Samantha will not be able to refile the case. Speaking with the media, Meghan’s attorney expressed that they are happy with the court’s ruling.

In her original filing, Samantha claimed that Meghan Markle had tried to defame her. The duchess stated that she grew up as an only child. While according to Samantha, she had Meghan were very close while growing up. In fact, they only drifted apart when the Duchess started dating Prince Harry. She also pointed out that Meghan tried to put her down by stating that Samantha changed her last name back to “Markle” only because her sister started dating Prince Harry.

Furthermore, Samantha also had a pain point with a chapter titled , “A Problem Like Samantha” in a book based on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The book was titled Finding Freedom, and was written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand in August 2021. The judge ruled that Meghan can’t be held responsible for the contents of a book that was not published by her.
