Meghan Markle has “only one means of survival” to avoid seeing her California dreams completely collapse, according to a royal commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex has been trying to reinvent herself first as a Hollywood producer and then as an independent entrepreneur since stepping down from her royal role.

But with her Spotify agreement falling apart, the Sussexes’s deal with Netflix due to expire next year, and her struggles to launch her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, Meghan is seeing her plans crumble.

Reports have now emerged suggesting the royal is eyeing a potential reconciliation with the Royal Family – a move columnist Maureen Callahan claimed would help Meghan salvage her business plans.

Speaking GBN America, Ms Callahan said: “I think that the plans to establish the rival court in Montecito have been failing ever downward since their arrival here.

The Duchess’s relationship with senior royals has been frosty well before she and Prince Harry announced they would be stepping down in 2020.

Later, she expressed her surprise at how “formal” the Prince and Princess of Wales would be behind closed doors, noting they didn’t greet her with a hug the first time they met.

The couples further grew apart following the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, in which he alleged that William had physically attacked him after bad-mouthing Meghan.

In another part of the book, he claimed Kate had said she was “owed” an apology by Meghan after the former American actress joked the royal had “baby brain” after forgetting details about the Duke and Duchess’s wedding rehearsals.

Prince William was reportedly furious at Harry for his perceived breach of trust, as the future king was said to see the memoir as a “betrayal.”

Tensions, however, appear to have mellowed in recent months, with Harry and Meghan sending a heartfelt message of support to Kate after she announced she was receiving cancer treatment.

In the message, the couple said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

An insider recently told In Touch that the Duchess is ready to reconcile, especially with sister-in-law Kate.

They said: “She wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn’t want any bad blood between them.

“Meghan’s friends say she regrets how things went down and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realise she could’ve done things differently.”
