The Prince and Princess of Wales have been keeping their children quite active lately. Their two eldest, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have recently joined their parents at two major sporting events.

George, aged 10, was seen with William at the Euro 2024 final, while Kate took Charlotte along to Wimbledon. However, their youngest, six-year-old Prince Louis, stayed behind on both occasions.

Despite his infrequent public appearances, such as at Trooping the Colour and King Charles’ Coronation last year, Louis has been less visible of late. An expert has shed light on why this might be, suggesting it’s part of a ‘careful’ strategy by his parents regarding the introduction of their children to the public eye.

On True Royalty TV’s The Royal, hosted by Russell Myers from the Mirror, ITV News Royal Producer Lizzie Robinson offered insights into the couple’s approach. She said they are providing a “gentle introduction” to public duties for their kids.

Robinson remarked: “They’ve been really careful to manage how they’ve done it and what they’ve taken them to. They’ve considered each event on a case-by-case basis. And the fact that Louis wasn’t taken suggests that they are considering what they think is right for each child at what time. So, you know, his time will come.”

Kate took daughter Princess Charlotte to Wimbledon
Nine-year-old Charlotte made a heart-warming appearance at the men’s Wimbledon final, marking mum Kate’s second public appearance since she disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March. Since then, Kate has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatments and acknowledges experiencing both good and bad days.

The mum-daughter duo was accompanied by Kate’s sister Pippa at the tennis match. The pair received a standing ovation as they walked out to the Royal box, with charlotte looking proudly at her mum.

Matt Wilkinson, Royal editor of The Sun, couldn’t help but notice. He commented: “Look at Charlotte looking up at her mother, she knows what Catherine has been going through for the last six, seven months. She’s been seeing her on good days and bad days. It’s also a reward, a treat for her to sit with her mother and see the adulation that she received and have a fun day out.”

He continued: “Because the kids have probably had a really difficult six or seven months, so to see her looking so proud and happy towards her mother, I thought it was really a joy to see.”

Emily Nash, Royal editor of Hello! Magazine, echoed these sentiments when she noted: “The reception she got was incredible. There was this spontaneous standing ovation when she walked in, and what I found really touching was the expression on Charlotte’s face, she sort of looked up with this big smile – very proud clearly.”
