Kids can put a smile on your face for the simplest of reasons. And for the Royal Family it’s really no different – with the Princess of Wales revealing how her own daughter, Princess Charlotte, eight, made her beam with happiness.
Princess Kate recalled the heartwarming moment during a visit to Vsi Razom Community Hub in Bracknell in October last year where she was learning about the organisation’s work to support Ukrainian refugees.
During her visit, she struck up a conversation with a little girl named Liza who was also eight.
Princess Kate said: “I heard my daughter singing this morning and it’s a song called ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ and that made me very happy this morning.”

Liza responded excitedly to the song’s title which prompted Kate to ask if she also knew the song.
She said: “Do you know that song? Does it have the same tune? I heard that this morning and it made me very happy.”
Princess Kate and her daughter share musical talents too – with the proud mum recently revealing that she’s been advising her daughter over one of their shared hobbies.
The Prince and Princess of Wales attended the annual Royal Variety Performance in London in December.
There, Princess Kate spoke with Chinese pianist Lang Lang who performed alongside 13-year-old Lucy, a blind and autistic girl he discovered playing on a public piano in a train station on the Channel 4 reality show The Piano.
He said: “We talked about Charlotte. Her Royal Highness talked about Charlotte’s piano playing, I’m sure she’s good.
“Her Royal Highness said to me that she said to Princess Charlotte ‘Hey, look, if you practise a lot you can be like him’.
“So I’m happy to be helpful a little bit. It’s really funny, I was like, wow, I’m sure she will do well at the piano. I think she is practising.”
A source told Closer magazine that the mother and daughter pair share many of the same interests – which makes spending time together a joy.
The source said: “Kate sees a lot of herself in Charlotte — they’re both fiercely competitive, confident and eager to try new things.
“Charlotte never wants to sit on the sidelines, she always wants to jump right in.”
They also share a love of fashion with the insider saying that Princess Kate tries to involve Princess Charlotte in many of her big special event moments and “shows her sketches before her special event clothes are made.”
