Princess Kate overwhelmed with ‘wonderful message of support’
The Princess of Wales has received an overwhelming amount of support following her shock announcement.
Princess Kate has received support from fans and world leaders following her announcement on Friday evening, with flowers reportedly left at Windsor Castle today.
The Princess of Wales shared a heartfelt message on Friday as she opened up about her cancer diagnosis following abdominal surgery in January.
She described the diagnosis as a “huge shock” and said she and Prince William “have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family”.
She called for “time, space and privacy” as she completes her treatment but also thanked fans for the “wonderful messages of support”.
And the support has continued throughout the day, with hundreds of messages of support and flowers left at Windsor Castle where the video was filmed on Wednesday.

Leading the messages of support, King Charles said he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”, describing Kate as his “beloved daughter-in-law”.
Princess Kate’s brother James Middleton also issued a heartfelt message to his sister following the announcement, sharing a picture of the pair as children, alongside the message: “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”
Fans have been discussing the news this morning, with flowers left at Windsor Castle. Speaking outside Windsor Castle, tourist Mario Baptista told Sky News: “We hope she recovers swiftly, we’re rooting for her.”
Kate Garraway has issued well wishes to Kate, commending the “brave” Princess. “Know you are loved and not alone, even though, whoever you are, it can feel like it,” she wrote.
Fellow cancer patients have also issued sweet messages of support, as Kate begins preventative chemotherapy. One cancer patient, using the X handle @Delblu76, wrote: “Princess Kate… Such a brave speech because your own diagnosis is always so hard to talk about – I know from my own experiences. Your words were wonderful. Hard as it is at times, keep fighting for all of us.”
Labour MP Chris Bryant also shared his experience, writing: “My very best wishes to the Princess of Wales. I know from my experience of melanoma that cancer is a bugger but science and medicine have made such advances that it needn’t inspire fear. One thing that doesn’t help is when people talk about ‘brave battles’. That’s not how it works.”
Another fan, under the username @Kevinfr9, wrote: “Do hope Princess of Wales has a speedy recovery from her cancer. I, from personal experience from me and my family know what she is going through.”
@Hiyapriya wrote: “I’m normally silent on the subject of the Royal Family but can I say I hope Kate will now finally be left alone after all the fuss over the silly photoshopping. As a fellow abdominal cancer survivor, all the zero-evidence theories have been nauseating to read.”
