The world is heartbroken over the news of Princess Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales shared in a video Friday the reason she’s been away from the public eye is because of her health. She underwent a successful abdominal surgery in January, which later revealed cancer had been present and she’s since started chemotherapy.
Many people, from royals to celebrities, have already shared their well wishes with the future queen. King Charles said in a statement he’s “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did.”
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also released a statement on the diagnosis.

“She has shown tremendous bravery with her statement today,” he wrote. “In recent weeks she has been subjected to intense scrutiny and has been unfairly treated by certain sections of the media around the world and on social media. When it comes to matters of health, like everyone else, she must be afforded the privacy to focus on her treatment and be with her loving family.”
In the US, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said: “We wish the Duchess of Cambridge a full recovery. And we are incredibly sad to hear the news.”
Ivanka Trump also posted a kind message to Kate, saying, “I am deeply saddened to hear about Princess Kate’s diagnosis. Amidst the trials she faces, her strength and beauty continue to shine bright.”
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on X: “I wish Catherine, Princess of Wales, and all those who are fighting with cancer, much strength and a speedy recovery.”
Michelle O’Neill, the first minister of Northern Ireland said, “I am very sorry to hear the news of the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis. I send her my best wishes and the strength for her treatment, and a full and speedy recovery. A special word of thought to her young family at this challenging time.”
The video was posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account. People from around the world showed an outpouring of love to Princess Kate in the comments.
Actress Olivia Munn, who recently opened up about her own cancer diagnosis, responded to the post saying, “thank you for showing what it’s like to fight with grace and determination for yourself and for your family. Wishing you all the best.”
“I hope you’ll return to your old healthy self, I’ll pray for it. Love from Azerbaijan,” a user posted.
And another said: “So sorry Kate, greetings and support from Chile.”
