However, fans are left wondering if any of the original cast members, including Meghan, will be involved at all as they have not been invited back, according the article which the series’ account retweeted.
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, former Suits star Rachael Harris confirmed that the original cast were in fact not invited to star in the California-based reboot.
Rehashing a conversation she had with Suits creator Aaron Korsh, Rachel revealed that he had not mentioned Meghan at all claiming that they “don’t talk about the Duchess.” She explained: “He has not said anything to me about Megan popping in.
We don’t talk about the Duchess. It’s rude. She has enough going on.”Rumors ignited that Meghan’s potential return to Suits was to come after her on-screen husband Patrick J. Adams – who played Mike Ross in the drama – said he “hopes she comes back.”
Speaking at the Golden Globe Awards in January, the actor hinted that he and the Duchess could return to the spin-off. He said: “Yes, yes let’s go, I’ll do it. Yeah I’m ready, Mike and Rachel in Seattle,” and added: “I think Meghan’s a fantastic actor, so we’d be lucky to have her back in the industry.”
While the new reboot will be missing Meghan and the original crew, fans are still thrilled at the news of the new reboot that is set to begin production in late March in Vancouver, Canada. The new spinoff will follow the life of Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself and is now representing the some of the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.
The description of the new series reads: “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”
