Many members of the royal family, including Princess Diana, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Queen Elizabeth II, and Prince Philip, have visited India.

They came to experience the glory of Indian culture and its famous landmarks, such as the Taj Mahal. In 2016, Prince William and Kate Middleton journeyed through India. During their trip, the two met Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, and had a wonderful time.

When Prince William and Kate Middleton visited India, they attended a charity ball held at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

The two glammed up and made their graceful appearance at the event. Prince William donned a dashing formal tuxedo while Kate Middleton wore a royal blue floor-length gown embellished with beads and sequins.

The ball was filled with celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, and many more. The royals met the king of Bollywood cinema, Shah Rukh Khan. The three were seen talking throughout the evening.

Later, during a promotion for his film, Shah Rukh Khan shared his experience of meeting the royals. He revealed that while talking, he forgot the English term for paalak (spinach). He said, “At dinner, I tried to explain the dishes they were eating. I don’t know food very well, and one time I tried to explain what ‘paalak’ is in English. I was looking around for someone to tell me what paalak is in English. I didn’t want to disappoint them with my lack of knowledge of food.”

In another interview, Shah Rukh Khan once again touched on the topic and talked about his experience with the royals. He shared, “The royal highnesses were wonderful. They were very gracious, very beautiful. I spent a lot of time with them. They are very cool, very kind, and very normal, which is perhaps unexpected. I’ve met some royalty before, but they were of the older generations and there is a certain amount of respect there anyway. But this was really easy, and they were like a regular young couple. They were very, very sweet. I am quite a fan of the royal highnesses.”

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, talked about his wonderful time in India. He shared how the two had always wanted to visit the country since their marriage. He said, “It has been a wonderful and colorful evening. It has been a real treat to be welcomed to India in this way. When Catherine and I got married, India was the first place on her list, and she told me she wanted to visit. Two children and five years later, we finally made it, and we are quite honored to be here.”
